Partner & Chief Investment Officer, Private ILS
Paul Barker is a Partner and the Chief Investment Officer, Private ILS and Head of Elementum (Bermuda) Ltd. He is responsible for overseeing the firm’s reinsurance strategies including origination, underwriting, portfolio construction, and hedging. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Paul supports the firm’s capital raising efforts and investor relations, and works closely with the Founders on the overarching business strategy. Active in the ILS market since 2007, Paul combines deep quantitative expertise with extensive market experience, drawing on prior roles at Elementum’s US headquarters and Aon Benfield Analytics where he honed his expertise in catastrophe modeling, risk analysis, and portfolio management. He holds a BS in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences from the University of Washington with a focus in Statistics and a minor in Math.
